19 MAY 2011 - Race for Real + Civenex = Packed House

With the great weather Sydney has been experienceing lately our band of off trusty street racers have been flocking into Sydney Dragway making the most of the conditions. With the Civenex Show on at the same time we knew we would be squeezed up a bit but thanks to the patience and understanding by all that were present the night went off ok with around 700 runs going down the track... the bad news for those (Other than Dave Muscat) chasing the Reaction Time jackpot is that it went off and Dave took home a cool $1135!!!

As we said earlier the reaction time competition Jackpot went off when just after 7:45 David Muscat ripped off a .000 to take home $1135!!! Here we have our comentator Mark thomas giving David the good news!

Second spot went Joseph Borg (not our regular bike rifding version) this was Woongarrah's Joseph Borg who's .011 held on for the $200 prize.

... and third place went to Concetto Fasio with a .013 light in his BA XR6 Turbo. Concetto had already left to pick up his daughter from dancing and was over the moon when he got the call today to say he was $100 richer!

Regular Street Fighter racer Dan Brown had his XR8 out for a few laps ahead of the Track Championship Finals on May 28-29.

You never know what you are going to see at a Race for Real Wednesday and this Black Ford GT40 sure looked the part on the race track.

Another of our regular Super Street racers Jason Field had his Ford Hot Rod out having a play before the Track Championship Final on May 28-29

An oldie but a goodie... John Hatten's 350 Chev powered EH was running 13s in the cool air.

Again the bike guys were out in force but none of them featured in the reaction time prizes again this week.

Harry Fagan dropped in on his way home from work and our trusty Starter Jim 'Baldy' Holland took the opportunity to get a few quotes while he was at it!

... and Baldy is on the job again and noticed a strange noise coming out of Manios Ikonomopoulos' XYGT ...

... ah ha! ... no wonder it got Baldies attention ...

Luckily 'Wombie' was on the job in a flash and we were back racing in no time flat ... good job guys!

This tidy 9 second RX2 belongs to Stephen Dimech and looked great under the Sydney Dragway lights!

... and of course no Race for Real Wednesday would be complete without the burnouts ... wait a minute is that the Grim Reaper talking the Masked Avenger in the background?
