14 APR 2011 - Race for Real Report
This time around the Sydney wether was near pisture perfect during the day and dispite the clouds rolling in in the late afternoon it did not deter our faithfull off street racers and fans from flocking through the gates of Sydney Dragway for another night of fun on the Drag Strip.
With the 2nd Annual All Harley Drag n Brag on this Sunday there were plenty of Harleys out practicing and Nathan Crofts made the trip worthwhile by taking out the top spot in the reaction time competition with a .003 just after 7 o'clock! |
Joe Sorbello is one of our regular racers at nearly every event here at Sydney Dragway and he managed to get amongst the Reaction time cash with .011 light that held on for second place and $200!!! |
Colin Watling knocked out a .014 reaction time in his 11 second 308 powered Commodore just after 6 o'clock and suprisingly it held on for 3rd place and $100 cash. |
Ok ... this definatley takes out the "Tough Pic" Award for the week ... Justin King's 548 cubic inch (That's 9 litres for you young fellas!) HJ was reaching for the sky all night runnig 10.0s at 140 mph (225 kays!) |
Roy Valardi's Viper Purple Boss 335 GT-P was very impressive running 12.4s with ease ... We believe it is straight off the showroom floor with no mods... Nice! |
Smokin!!! Steve had his 6.0L VE fogging in the start line before he launched down the track in the low 13 second range. |
Always nice to see a tough Dodge on the track and Matthew Thomson's black 440 Pheonix looked the part! |
Another tough Turbo Falcon and John Houlder's BA XR6 is as fast as it looks running 10.2 @ 139 mph (224 kays!) |
Speaking of tough Turbos ... Michael Patrick's 3.0L VL is another example of how quick the 6 cylinder brigade is these days with easy 11 second time slips. |
One of the advantages of riding a bike ... you can check out your own skid!!! |
The PAC Boys are huge supporters of the Rotary scene here in Sydney and George Rehayem had his Streeter out for a couple of laps testing a new combination. |
And of course we had a the burnouts which are always popular and this week we had some quest commentators from crowd calling the shots... was a lot of fun! |
| Ok that's it fro another Race for Real ... don't forget we are here each and every Wednesday Night and mark you calendar for Monday April 25 for BURNOUT MAYHEM ... Burnouts Burnouts and MORE Burnouts ... Don't miss it! |
