AN UPDATE from the Chairman
1. Promotion for the ANDRA Pro Series on March 18 and March 19 has commenced in earnest.
Tickets are on sale - get in early.
2. Wednesday nights continue to draw good numbers - cars and spectators. It is a great opportunity to view the racing up close and talk to your mates and talk to your mates about how your car will go over the quarter mile! Gates open at 4.30 pm racing starts at 6.00 pm.
3. Staff Changes:
Denise Read completed her tenure at Sydney Dragway on Friday 11th February, 2011. I am sure you will join me in thanking Denise for all her hard work during her employment at the track and for her dedication in those years before the track opened.
4. Track Merchandise:
The track has come to an arrangement with Track Shop Merchandise Pty Ltd (TSM) - the company which ran the shop at the top of the stairs. TSM will no longer operate this store.
At this time the Sub Board is in discussing with other providers the opportunity to take up the onsite merchandising rights. This will be finalised for the Pro Series event on March 18-19. In the meantime we will arrange for the shop to be open so you may continue to purchase your Sydney Dragway gear.
5. ANDRA Pro Series TCS 5 - 18th-19th March 2011 - Some extra excitement!!!
Victor and Ben Bray are bringing the Sidchrome Burnout Cars and 4 lucky spectators will win a ride on the burnout pad. Watch for the competition details.
And for Nitro Funny Car enthusiasts Graeme Cowin will have his ’57 Chev Nostalgia Funny Car there and Chris Stipanovich will bring his car for some runs over the weekend.
6. Nitro Champs:
Make sure you have the dates set aside - April 29, April 30 and May 1st. Three days of non stop excitement.
7. Management Sub Board:
I have added Mr Jason Varone, Managing Director of the Jeminex Group. He will bring to the Board business acumen and experience in Corporate Governance.
Your feedback has been most welcome. We have received over 200 responses and many of your ideas and suggestions have been discussed at length. You will appreciate not all changes can happen at once. We are focussing on the financials and making sure the Pro Series Event is a success. We have a very limited marketing budget so will need all the help we can get - one way you can help is come to the event and bring 10 of your mates.
