20 MAR 2012 - Maggs Racing and Speedflow join forces

Maggs Racing and Speedflow join forces.
Speedflow – Manufacturer of the only Australian made performance hoses and fittings are proud to announce an alliance with MAGGS Racing.
Speedflow are very excited about forming this alliance with the countries quickest and fastest Small Block Slammer. “This is a great opportunity to perform even more R&D with a car that is as quick as this. Not only is it the front runner in its class here in the country, but it is a front runner for its kind the world over.” Replied Shaun from Speedflow.
The Maggs Family Corvette will now be seen with the Speedflow logo stretched along it’s side, promoting their high quality, Australian made products.
“We are very proud to support an Australian product that is a world leader in quality” explained Jason. Robert continued, “We have always strived to support Australian manufacturers wherever possible, whether it is with our cars or with the building products we use on day to day basis throughout our business.” “Speedflow Performance Fittings are the perfect fit for our operation, as we are both continuously searching for the next performance advantage over our competition – something that never ends” continues Jason.
After what has been a long break between events, the entire Maggs Racing Team are hungry to get back down to business at the upcoming RARS Round to be held at Sydney Dragway and try to regain sole leadership of the heavily contested points battle in Competition Eliminator.
“We went testing a few weeks ago down here at Victoria where things didn’t go quite as planned” explained Jason. “We had a number of little things go wrong on our first pass, which in turn lead to our weekend being ended early.” After spending week’s fine tuning the team’s new Racer Pro cylinder heads, they produced a lot more airflow than had been anticipated. Robert concluded “The new heads performed so well, with what used to be a really safe tune, saw the exhaust temperatures soar too high, and we ended up putting a hole in one of them. Nothing wrong with the heads themselves, it’s just that they performed way better than we had even hoped for, which is great news for us”. The cylinder heads have been repaired and are now ready for battle this coming weekend.
Even with the problems encountered on the engine side of things, testing wasn’t a complete loss. “We made a bunch of changes to the chassis set up which seemed to work quite well. The car reacted exactly how we had hoped. I guess Sydney will be the real test” replied Jason.
Maggs Racing will next be seen at Sydney Dragway March 24 & 25 for the next RARS round. Feel welcome to come by the sportsman pit area and meet Jason, Robert and the rest of the Maggs Racing Team. See www.sydneydragway.com.aufor more details.
