09 NOV 2011 - RAPID BIKES #69 IS ON SALE THIS FRIDAY

PRESS RELEASE
RAPID BIKES #69 IS ON SALE THIS FRIDAY
Issue #69 of Australia’s greatest modified motorcycle magazine is on sale on Friday, 11th November 2011. It’s also Remembrance Day, lest we forget.
On the cover we’ve gathered together three of the hottest new bikes for 2012: Yamaha’s YZF R1, BMW’s S 1000 RR and Suzuki’s GSX-R1000. There’s almost 600 horsepower right there!
As a bunch of motorcycle nuts, we’re pretty excited that Jeff Ware was the only Australian invited to Portimao to ride the 2011 WSBK and WSS bikes. In this issue we kick off with his exclusive tests of Carlos Checa’s WSBK Championship-winning Ducati 1198 and Chas Davies’ WSS Championship-winning Yamaha R6.
The fun never ends with road tests of the brand new Ducati 848 Streetfighter and the all-new Harley-Davidson Switchback.
Modified bikes more your bag? We’ve gathered together a nitrous-sucking Yamaha R6, the Kiwi-built CRG500 V8, an all-carbon Ducati 999 and finally Bullfrog, a big-inch GSX1400 memorial.
Mat Mladin shares more in the third part of our series of in-depth interviews with the legend of Aussie motorcycle racing. We also stopped in and checked out the Yamaha Technicians GP as well as having a look at MaxPower in the Gong.
Our long termers all get a run as we start to add even more bits and pieces.
Speaking of firsts, we’ve got a scoop with our report of the 2011 Sport Compact Group’s J21 from Willowbank Raceway.
If you want to get though this issue before the fat man rocks up next month, you better hurry up.
Rapid Bikes Magazine is a production of independent Australian publisher JP Media, home of Rapid Bikes, Knee Down and Used & Classic Bike Enthusiast magazines.
